End your suffering!

Have a bad tooth Repaired ... Removed ... Replaced.

Hartford Conecticut, December 1, 184, nitrous oxide ("laughung gas") was administrated to Dr. Horace Wels (local dentist), rendering him unconscious and able to have a wisdom tooth extracted without any awareness of pain.

Sedation dentistry makes going to the dentist as easy as a dream ...

There are several options that we use for conscious sedation at Icon Dental:

1. Inhalation Sedation

Nitrous Oxide is the most commonly used inhalation anesthetic agent in dentistry and indeed in all medicine is credited as being the first anesthetic to be administrated clinically for surgical pain elimination. To be able to appreciate the agent better, the technique and equipment had almost 200 years of history since it was first used as a pharmacological sedative agent. In the 1950's and 1960's, nitrous oxide was becoming more frequently used in dentistry.

Benefits of Inhalation Sedation:

During Inhalation Sedation, nitrous oxide is inhaled into the lungs to achieve a state of "moderate sedation" , at such a state, a purposeful response to verbal/tactile stimulation is expected. (This is usually referred to as "conscious sedation")

Inhalation sedation is extremely effective and safe when delivered by a trained dentist.

2. IV Conscious Sedation

Sedation dentistry can put you at ease and virtually eliminate the pain and fear associated with dental treatment. Intravenous sedation is one of the several options available to significantly reduce your feaars and discomfort.

Benefits of IV Sedation:

During intravenous s (IV sedation), an anti-anxiety drug is adminsitered into the bloodstream to achieve a state of "moderate sedation" , at such a state, a purposeful response to verbal/tactile stimulation is expected. (This is usually referred to as "conscious sedation")

Although you will not actually be asleep, you will enjoy a heightened state of relaxation - and probably won't remember much about the procedure afterwards. You rappointment will be a dream and hours in the chair will feel like minutes.

Upon complete examination and established treatment plan, we will determine which anesthesia option is best for you and provide more detailed information and instructions.
